Norma A. Giacobbe passed away peacefully at the Woburn Nursing Center. She was 84. Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Guidotti) Matterazzo. Norma was a devoted wife and sister who was a dear friend to many. The beloved wife of 63 years to Carmine “Charlie” Giacobbe, she worked in sales for Filenes of Boston, was a cashier at local supermarkets and served as the communications officer for the produce market.
In addition to her beloved husband, Carmine C. “Charlie” Giacobbe, she was a dear friend to James Considine of Medford and Jo-Ann Palermo of Saugus. She was the dear sister of Eugene ”Gene” Matterazzo and his wife Elizabeth of Framingham and the late John and Emily Matterazzo. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Wednesday July 6th at 10:15 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11:15 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8 PM.
