Obituary

Donald M. Stapleton, Sr. of Canton and Mashpee passed away July 1st at the Norwood Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chelsea, he was raised in Roxbury and graduated from Commerce High School in Boston and attended Northeastern University. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Donald has lived in Canton since 1974 and was the Clerk Magistrate of the Stoughton District Court for 38 years before retiring in 2009. He was the Past President of the Clerk Magistrates Assn, a member of the American Legion Post #24 and enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Popponesset Beach and spending many winters in Puerto Rico. Beloved husband of Margaret M. (Dalton). Father of Margaret M. Cohan and her husband Dennis of Madison, CT, Kathleen S. Driscoll and her husband Richard of Easton, Michael P. Stapleton and his wife Louise of Canton, Maureen P. Bosteels of Canton, Denise M. Fay and her husband David of Foxboro and Donald M. Stapleton, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Foxboro. Brother of Eleanor Jaeke of CO, and the late John, Charles and Robert Stapleton, Mary Darragh, Jeanne Kennedy, Ruth Grady and Priscilla Rafferty. Proud Papa of Joseph, Elizabeth, Maggie, Colleen, Thomas, Nora, Abigail, Michael, Meghan, Matthew, Robert, Patrick, Aidan, Finn and Grace. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Thursday morning at 10. Burial VA National Cemetery, Bourne Thursday at 1:15 pm. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
