WORCESTER: Catherine A. “Kay” (McQuade) Quattrucci; 90, formerly of Belvidere Ave., died Friday morning, July 1, 2016 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a 15 month long fight with pancreatic cancer. Her husband of 44 years, William L. Quattrucci, died February 28, 2011.
She leaves 2 daughters, Julie E. Liberatore of Worcester, Colleen K. Spaulding of Worcester; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hughes, Crystal Armstrong, Olivia Dusoe and Ian Dusoe; two great grandchildren, Jubilee Armstrong and Asher Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews. Her two brothers, Russell and James McQuade, both predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late George F. and Mary E. (Carroll) McQuade and graduated from Ascension High School. Upon graduation, she joined the USO as a performer travelling across the islands of the Pacific entertaining the troops during World War II.
Kay worked as a secretary with the City of Worcester for 30 years, until she retired. She previously worked as a Musician at the finest resorts up and down the East Coast for many years. She lived in Miami, FL before moving to Worcester over 45 years ago. She was a long time member of the Miami Federation of Musicians and had also belonged to the Worcester Musician’s Association Local No. 143. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, visiting the casinos, and rolling the dice. She will be remembered for her blue eyes, winning smile and talented, vivacious personality that made her most memorable to everyone who came into contact with her.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on TUESDAY, JULY 5, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, in the funeral home, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
