John W. Haswell, 87, of Tifton passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Haswell will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
John W. Haswell, Jason L. Haswell, Jarrett P. Haswell and Bill Meadows will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Schmandt and Bill Cretel.
Born January 10, 1929 in Ontario, Canada, Mr. Haswell was the son of the late John A. Haswell and Geraldine Lane Haswell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn G. Haswell; and a sister, Patricia Bensette. He was the founder and owner of Mastercraft in Tifton.
Mr. Haswell is survived by two sons, Jack Haswell and James Haswell, both of Tifton; one daughter, Deborah Covington of Viera, Florida; one brother, Stanley Haswell; three sisters, Gwendolyn Haswell, Brenda Quick and Carol Mihalik; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Cara Haswell, Jarrett and Tracy Haswell, John Haswell, Heather Reed, Brooke Covington, Briana Dunn and Nicole Jones; and ten great-grandchildren.
