Maria Gomes, 93, of Mendon Road, North Smithfield, formerly of Lincoln, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Hospice St. Antoine in North Smithfield. Mrs. Gomes would have celebrated her 94th birthday on July 28th.
Born in Bremerhaven, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Cornelia (Schott) Schellhaas. She came to the United States in 1949 and had lived in Lincoln for many years before moving to North Smithfield.
She had worked as a salesperson in the appliance department at Ann & Hope before retiring.
She is survived by her sons: Hans-Dieter Gomes and his wife, Jeannette of Lincoln, John Gomes of Anchorage, Alaska, her grandsons, Randall Gomes of New Hampshire, Darin Gomes of Virginia, John Gomes of Alaska, and a great granddaughter, Abigail.
Memorial service will be held at a time to be announced.
