Joyce Peacock Taylor, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor was born July 28, 1940, in Wilcox County, Georgia to the late Walter & Annie Walker Peacock. She lived in the community all of her life and worked for Winn Dixie Supermarket and the 5 & 10 as a clerk. She ministered alongside her husband, Rev. J.W. Taylor, for over 40 years. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Rev. J.W. “Buddy” Taylor of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Betty & Tommy Young of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann Stevens and her husband Robert, Crystal Michelle Drury and her husband James, and Johnathon Taylor; great-grandchildren: Austin Stevens, Scott Stevens, and Laurie Ann Drury; and a sister, Elaine Taylor of Fort Valley. IN addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lawrence Taylor; a great-granddaughter, Amberlynn Brooke Drury; two sisters; and one brother.
