ROBERTS, George D. - of Winthrop, June 29, 2016. He was 76 years old. Former husband of the Margaret A. (Gorman) Roberts. George was the devoted father of Matthew G. Roberts of Revere and Jessica A. Edwards and her husband Jason of Winthrop. Dear brother of Nancy Halbich and her husband Freddy of Burlington, Barbara Brownell and her husband George of AZ, William Roberts and his wife Jeannette of Salem, NH, Dorothy Roberts of Doris, CA, Paul Roberts and his wife Joyce of Denver, CO and the late Joan Roberts-Maloney and John P. “Jackie” Roberts. Proud “Pop pop” and cherished grandfather of James & Madelyn Roberts & Daniel & Sadie Edwards. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop, on Sat., July 2nd, at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited.
