TAUNTON – Mary P. (Mattos) Silvia passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2016, after a brief period of declining health.
She was the wife of the late Charles R. Silvia.
Born in Taunton on April 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elvira Mattos and the sister of the late Joseph Mattos, Jr.
A 1987 Princess House retiree, she had previously been employed by Knopf Sportswear and the Mansfield Chocolate Factory.
Most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Lopes and her husband Anthony of Taunton; her grandson, Christopher Lopes of Taunton; and her granddaughter, Alyssa Potter and her husband John and great grandson Nathan Potter, all of Plainville.
She also leaves a sister-in-law, Rose Mattos of Taunton; a niece, Elizabeth Mattos; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and her burial will be private.
