Valerie A. (Swain) Ricciardone passed away on June 28, 2016. She was 71 years old.
Valerie was born in Canada and moved to the United States in 1960. She was a longtime resident of Malden and worked at Ariad Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge for many years.
Valerie was the former wife of Robert Ricciardone. She was the beloved mother of Aimee Ricciardone and her husband Robert Schopp of Malden, April Ricciardone and her wife Bonita McAllister of Malden, and Beth Ricciardone and her husband David Cone-Gorham of Brooklyn, NY. Valerie was the sister of Donald and Robert Goldsmith. She was the cherished grandmother of Alissa and Connor Schopp, Angelina and Isabella Ricciardone, and Dominic and Eliot Gorham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Joseph’s Church 770 Salem Street, Malden on Saturday July 2nd at 11:30a.m. Please go directly to church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday July 1st from 5-8p.m. Interment will be private.
