Agostinho P. Camara, age 85, of Somerset passed away on Tuesday June 28, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in São Vicente Ferreira, São Miguel Açores, he was the son of the late Manuel P. and Maria da Conceicão (Almeida) and beloved husband of Maria G. (Leite) Camara. Agostinho was the owner of Charcutaria Acoreana, Camara’s Market and Camara’s Bakery. He was also a member of the Our Lady of Light Society, enjoyed westerns, dramas and sharing meals with family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Lucia Isidoro (husband Aires), Moses Camara (wife Celeste), Marie Almeida (husband Walter), and Vincent Camara (wife Theresa), sisters; Maria E. Mendes, and Lourdes Carvalho, grandchildren; Moses, Paul, Matthew and Andrew Isidoro, Philip and Nicholas Camara, Derek and Courtney Almeida, Vincent, Allison, and Nicholas J. Camara, great-grandchildren Myles and Scarlett Isidoro and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M.
