Obituary

WAYLAND: Harold “Hal” E. Currier of Wayland, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 26, 2016 after a brief illness.
Hal was born in Somerville on April 5, 1927 and grew up in Belmont, graduating from Belmont High School in 1944. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a law degree from Boston University Law School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His passion, besides his family, was music. As a young man he played the piano in the Dick Sealey band and entertained the troops during his time in the military. He spent his career in the insurance industry working for The Boston Company, Lexington Insurance Company and Cameron and Colby.
Hal is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mertice (Olson) Currier, his daughter Suzanne (Currier) Hovhannesian and her husband Mark and beloved granddaughter, Lisa all of Southborough.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Friday July 1, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:30 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice, c/o Care Group Parmenter Home Care and Hospice, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778.
