Francisco A. Correia of Medford died on Tuesday, June 28. Born and raised in Doze Ribeiras, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao Alves and Maria Jose (Alves) Correia. Francisco came to the U.S. in 1976, settling first in Cambridge before moving to Medford ten years ago.
Francisco was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Fagundes) Correia, and the devoted father of Jose Enrique Correia of Medford, Arselina Vieira and her husband Valdemiro of Somerville, Iva Candeias and her husband Manuel of Medford, Joao Correia and his wife Natevidade of Wilmington, Luis Correia and his wife Lucia of Somerville, Francisco Correia and his wife Rosemaria of Revere. He is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 16 loving great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., Cambridge, on Saturday, July 2, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9 through 10:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
