Robert A. Card, age 64, of West Bridgewater, died peacefully June 26, 2016 at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. Bob was the loving husband for 39 years of Diane M. (Contre) Card, and father of Stephanie Marie Card of Manhattan, NY. Born and raised in Brockton, Bob was the son of the late Phillip A. and Marion (Hopwood) Card. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1969. For 26 years, he was a Travel Agent and Owner of Stonehill Travel/Card Tours & Travel. Bob served as the Activities Director at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, and was an active church member at St. Ann’s Parish in West Bridgewater. He enjoyed time with his family, good food, travelling, and watching Law & Order and the Food Network. Bob was an extraordinary husband and father, reliable friend to many and always supportive of others.
He is also survived by his two brothers Jack Card of Brockton, Michael Card of East Freetown, and his extended family: Dennis and Diane Contre, Richard and Linda Dupuis, Donna Long and Donnie Owens, Donald and Karen Contre, Roger and Lise Bishop, and Thomas and Doreen McKean.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater, at 10am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
