Obituary

Dan D. Raymond, 73, of Nashua, New Hampshire formerly of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a tough battle with aggressive gallbladder cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Dan will be best remembered as a Loving Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Brother, Grandfather and Friend. His friends referred to him as “The Big Guy”. A good friend to all who knew him, especially his Army buddies, with whom they had many of wonderful trips across the country and the Poconos where he spent peaceful hours with the boys from “Alpha Gators”. His pride and joy was his Grandson, Oliver. Dan enjoyed Bass fishing and playing a card game called 45’s. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and knew how to live life to the fullest. We are all lucky to have known him.

He was born in Sanford, Maine, and was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a 1961 Graduate of Lawrence High School. Dan was the son of the late Douglas C. and Lucille (Poisson) Raymond. He served in the United States Army in Berlin, Germany where he met his beloved wife of 49 years Angelika U. (Hardt) Raymond. He had a career in Quality Assurance at Baird/IMO for 25 years and was a life time member of the Nashua Elks.

Besides his beloved wife Dan was survived by his daughter Ursula McCarthy and her husband Adam of Franklin, MA. and his Grandson Oliver.

His brother-in-law Werner Hardt and his wife Birgit of Berlin, Germany

His beloved dog Tex, who would love rides with Dan in his pick-up truck. As well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA. His funeral service will follow immediately after the wake at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place on Thursday, July 7th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
