Susan “Melissa” Winser Childers, 41, of Tifton passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Tift Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Kevin Dawson officiating. Melissa will be laid to rest at New River Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Monday, June 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Melissa will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Chris Drawdy, Tommy Conway, Willie Winser, Felton Hayes, Alex Conway and Tyler Stringer will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 6, 1974 in Tifton, Melissa was the daughter of Cleve Winser and Alice Sandifer Winser of Brookfield. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Sandifer, Sr. and Mary Sandifer Evans and William G. Winser and Marie J. Winser. She was a cashier at Brookfield General Store and a member of Tift Avenue Church of God. She dearly loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by one son, Cale Childers of Brookfield; one daughter, Shaina Winser of Boston; one brother, Allen Winser of Tifton; one sister, Mary Melendez of Tifton; and three grandchildren, Titan Carter, Brycen Carter and Kaiden Carter.
