Hayes, Ruth E. (Doyle) of Kingston, formerly of Dedham, passed away on June 17, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Margaret (Cray) Doyle, and wife of the late James L. Hayes. Born and raised in Dedham, Ruth ran a catering service at the West Roxbury Towers. She was a member of Riverdale Girls Club, Riverdale Rats, Reunion Committee of Dedham High School - Class of ’45, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Norwood Irish Music Club, Communicant of St Denis, Westwood and St Mary’s, North Plymouth.
Beloved mother of Kathleen Martell and husband Stephen of Westwood; Karen Cleveland and husband Allan of Florida and Plymouth; Lawrence Hayes and wife Helen (D’Amour) of Avon, CT, and the late Eileen Marie Hayes. Grandmother of Karen Martell, Brian Martell, Jeanne Barber, Paul Cleveland, and Carolyn Cleveland. Great grandmother of Camden and Colette Barber. Ruth is survived by her siblings Margaret Fitzpatrick of Westwood, Eleanor Cadigan and husband Dr John Jr., of Needham, and sister-in-law Claire Doyle of Kingston. Predeceased by Joseph E. Doyle and Louise Finan of Needham; Anne Pelrine of Walpole; Helen Fitzhenry of Westwood; Frances Pierce of Kingston. Ruth loved to travel and passed this passion on to many of her family members.
There will be a memorial Mass at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street (Rt 1A), Westwood on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10 am. Relative and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ruth’s memory to the the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
