James Michael “Mike” Langham, age 54, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born July 16, 1961 to the late James Haywood and Pauline Nelson Langham. Mike attended Bethel Baptist Church and worked as a contractor for several construction companies until he became disabled. He was a devoted father, grandfather and brother who loved his family and friends. Mike enjoyed cooking, especially his chicken and dumplings and BBQ ribs. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, and riding 4-wheelers and horses. Mike loved life and was always joking and having a good time.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 10:00 am in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Burial will be in the Broom Cemetery in Yalobusha County with Adam Langham, Brock Langham, Gregory, Langham, Corey Holland, Sonny King and Scott Palmertree serving as pallbearers. Mark Ragon, Steven Ragon and Kevin Ward will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Heather Palmertree and his step-daughter, Amber (David) Brown all of Water Valley; his sons, Steven Brock (Anna) Langham and James Gregory Langham all of Water Valley; four sisters, Paulette Palmertree and Pam (Wayne) Hatfield both of Water Valley, and Patricia Rushing and Norma Blanton both of Oxford; two brothers, Jerry Dale (Gloria) Langham of San Diego, CA and William Andrew Langham of Lafayette County, MS; one granddaughter, Ellissa Murphree Langham; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
