NATICK: Frances Mae (Norman) Cody, 95, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Maine following a period of declining health.
She was born in Roxbury on May 8, 1921 the daughter of the late William J. Norman, Sr. and Esther Ann (Reid) Norman.
Fran is survived by her son William Norman Cody and his wife Elaine Cody of Marlborough. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and her God-daughter Ada Susan Perry of Norway, Maine. She was the sister of the late William J. Norman, Jr and Robert J. Norman. She was the wife of the late William F. Cody who died on May 31, 1997.
Fran has been a lifelong resident of Natick and graduated from Natick High School with the Class of 1939. In her earlier years, she was associated with the Dennison Company in Framingham and the Natick Army Labs.
She spent many years caring for many people in their time of need and also worked for the Zayre Corporation before retiring. She loved to play bingo and she had an extensive collection of houseplants which she loved to raise. She was a kind person and always looked out for others. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her in her 95 years.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am followed by her funeral service at 10:30 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Cody family lot in Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
