Janet Marie (Lamore) Buckman, 82 of Walpole, died June 23 in her home surrounded by her devoted family. She was the wife of Warren H. “Skip” Buckman.
Born in Walpole, February 6, 1934, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Morash) Lamore, Mrs. Buckman was a lifelong Walpole resident.
Janet had been a bookkeeper for the former Ashmont Discount in Walpole, Gallo’s Flowers and the Norfolk County Trust Company.
A talented athlete, she had excelled at basketball and field hockey at Walpole High School.
She enjoyed reading, candlepin bowling, gardening, playing cards with her family and vacations in Laconia, New Hampshire and Harwichport. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She also enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her classmates from the Walpole High School Class of 1951.
Her favorite thing was above all else spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Carol Buckman Keyes and her husband Harry of Avondale, Arizona, Thomas Buckman and his wife Elena of Stoughton, Patti McGuinness and her late husband Edward of Walpole, Scott Buckman and his wife Jill of Norwood, Michael Buckman of Walpole, Renee McVeigh and her husband John of Attleboro, Mark Buckman of Walpole and Eric Buckman and his wife Kim of Wrentham.
She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Connerty of Walpole, Carol Travers of Walpole and Robert Lamore of Plymouth.
She was the sister of the late Patricia Robbins and Marjorie Stuber.
She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 27 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00.
Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4- 8 p.m.
Instead of flowers the family asks that you send perennial plants which can be planted in Janet’s yard in her memory.
