Obituary

Von Sternberg, Stanley Kerr of Marblehead, MA, died peacefully on June 20, 2016. Stanley was born in Salem, MA, on August 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Stanley and Dora (Kerr) von Sternberg. He is survived by his sons Kurt von Sternberg of Melbourne, Florida and Gregg von Sternberg and his wife, Margaret, of North Andover and daughters, Lisa Elwell and Donna von Sternberg.
Educated in Marblehead, he was a graduate of Marblehead High School. Stanley served in active duty for the United States Army from 1943-1946 with the 364th Field Artillery Battalion of the 76th Infantry Division. After his service in the Army, Stanley attended and graduated from the Vesper George School of Art of Boston and was a technical illustrator and industrial draftsman for GTE-Sylvania for all his working career. From 1976-1984 Stanley served and held a number of positions on the METCO Board of Directors. He also coordinated multiple visits of the Cornish Holman Climax All-Male Choir and their performances while in Marblehead and Washington DC.
An avid car buff all his life, many will remember Stanley driving and showing his Corvette well into his later years.
