Theresa H. Hennessey (McCarthy) formerly of Hennessey, Theresa H. (McCarthy) formerly of Westwood, MA, June 18th. Theresa was the beloved wife of the late, Robert L. Hennessey, Sr.
Born in Boston, Theresa grew up in Jamaica Plain, graduated from Girls High School and attended Boston Business School. She worked for many years in the Advertising Department of S.S. Pierce, later joined Prudential Insurance as a loan adjustment representative and worked at the Greater Roslindale Health Center prior to her retirement.
Theresa had a love for Cape Cod spending many summers there with her family.
Theresa is the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Hennessey, Sr. She is survived by her devoted children, Robert L. Hennessey, Jr. and his wife Joan of Walpole and Gretchen H. Swan and her husband Philip of Milton. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth J. McIntyre of West Roxbury, Jillian M. Hennessey of Walpole, Robert P. Hennessey of CA, Andrew P. Swan of NH, and Ciara J. Swan of Milton. Loving great-grandmother of Owen Hennessey of Walpole and Grace McIntyre of West Roxbury. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Patrick McCarthy and sisters: Katherine Kaufman, Mary Cirignano and Peggy Hounsell.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass in the Chapel at St. Agatha Church, 432 Adams St., Milton, on Monday, June 27th at 10 am. A private interment of her ashes will follow at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to Boston Firefighter’s Local 718 Children’s Fund, c/o Boston Firefighter’s Local 718, 55 Hallet St., Dorchester, MA 02124.
