RAYNHAM – Richard S. Emery, husband of the late Natalie A. (Labossiere) Emery, died peacefully at Life Care Center of Raynham on June 21, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was 85.
Born in Biddeford, ME, he was the son of the late Herbert G. and Mabel (Ashman) Emery.
Educated in Biddeford, he was a graduate of Biddeford High School class of 1949 and went on to attend UCONN for 1 year. Mr. Emery served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and moved to this area in 1962. He was employed as a technician for Raytheon until his retirement in 1996. A communicant of St. Ann’s Church of Raynham, Richard loved remodeling, carpentry, traveling and the casinos.
Survivors include son, James C. Emery and his wife Maria and daughter Sandra J. Sullivan and her husband William all of Raynham; son, John G. Emery and his fiancée Cynthia of Fall River; daughter, Janice A. McSween and her husband Scott of VA; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father to the late Gary Emery.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, June 27th from 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann’s Church of Raynham at 10 a.m.
Burial will be private.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 26th from 4 to 7 p.m.
