William Alexander Heffernan

Died 16 June 2016 of complications from congenital heart disease.
Beloved son of Alyssa (née Small) and Ryan Heffernan of Arlington, VA. William is survived by his great grandparents, Anne and Robert Sable of North Andover, MA; his grandparents Barbara and Charles Heffernan of Staten Island, NY; Susan Candela and Patrick Small of North Andover, MA and John Candela of San Francisco, CA; Aunts and Uncles Alexis and Robert Fletcher, Amanda Luizzi, Ned Small, his Godfather Patrick Heffernan; and cousins Robert Fletcher and Patrick Luizzi.
Our Little Heart Warrior William demonstrated pure and perfect love in its truest sense. His strength, courage, resilience and remarkable love gives a sense of meaning and purpose to the lives of those he touches.
His incredible journey during his nearly four months on earth has had a beautiful and lasting impact on the lives of those who met him either in person or by learning of his story. He is a hero and inspiration to many, but nobody more so than his mom and dad to whom he brings so much joy.
Sweet William earned his angel's wings and returned home to God peacefully in the loving arms of his parents and with his Godfather at his side and now serves as a guardian angel for all those who came to love him.
William's Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM.
