Woonsocket
Roland L. Hubert 92, of Lucille St. died June 16, 2016 at The Holiday in Lincoln. He was the husband of the late Rolande (LePage) Hubert. Born in Blackstone, MA, he was a son of the late Ludovic and Albina (Beaudoin) Hubert. Roland attended Mt St. Charles Academy. He joined the Civil Conservation corps in 1940 and then joined the Navy in 1942. He was discharged in 1945 after achieving the rank of Quartermaster First Class. He served on the USS LMS 494 and the LST 458, he received the American Area Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal with three Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Roland worked as a weaver for the Argonne Worsted Co. for many years. He then worked as a printer for Champion Int. Corp. retiring in 1985. Roland was a member of the New England teamster Union Local 25. He loved working on cars, fishing, and raising his family.

Roland is survived by his children, Roger E. Hubert and his wife Jacqueline of Woonsocket, Donald A. Hubert and his wife Beatrice of Glendale, Lorraine Languirand and her husband Gene of Woonsocket, six grandchildren and twelve great -grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Muriel Y. Hebert, and siblings, Armand Hubert Sr., Jean Muron and Annette Bergeron.

His funeral with visitation will be held Tuesday at 8:30 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.
