Obituary

Mr. Paul J. “Sully” Sullivan, of Berkley, passed away in Saturday, June 18 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was born 92 years ago in Boston, the son of the late Thomas F. and Mary G. (Corbett) Sullivan. Paul moved to Taunton in 1947, and was a well known citizen of the city, particularly in the Whittenton area. Paul worked for many years at the former “Blink’s Café” in Taunton, and retired from the Town Line Redemption Center in North Dighton. He was an avid sports fan of all four New England teams, as well as the Pawtucket Red Sox. His passion was collecting team memorabilia. Many days Paul would walk miles so that he could watch youth and high school baseball games across the city. In his lifetime, Paul traveled to Cape Cod, Bermuda, California, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Nevada, New York, and Florida. Paul, in his spare time, provided community service in Taunton, Berkley and the Middleboro area. He was also an attendee of numerous events held by the Berkley Council on Aging.
He leaves: 2 brothers: Richard Sullivan of Belmont, Ma., and William Sullivan of Palm Coast, Fla.; 1 sister: Janet Meaney of Dundee, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was also the brother of the late Catherine Ehlers, Ruth Fitzsimmons, Barbara O’Toole, Virginia Ames, Ethel Amrhein, Helen Agrillo, Ann Perna, Lois Holland, Marietta Lacy, Francis Sullivan and Jeremiah Sullivan. Paul will be sadly missed by his many friends and his “family” in Berkley.
