Janet L. (Rainville) Gauthier, 85, of Dartmouth died Sunday June 19, 2016 at home after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Jules O. Gauthier, Sr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Cormier) Rainville, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth in 1958.
Mrs. Gauthier was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
She was formerly employed by Cliftex Corporation for 25 years and later worked at Stop and Shop until her retirement.
Mrs. Gauthier enjoyed bowling at Lincoln Park and Midtown Bowling Lanes. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending all of the various activities that they were involved in.
Survivors include two sons, Jules Gauthier, Jr., and his wife Cheryl, and Roland Gauthier, Sr., and his wife Kathy, all of Dartmouth; a daughter, Yvette Nunes, and her husband John, of Dartmouth; six grandchildren, Catherine Gauthier, Christopher Nunes, and his wife Lorianne, Andrew Nunes, and his wife Jennifer, Roland Gauthier, Jr., and his wife Valia, Shannon Silva, and her husband Blaine, and Nathan Gauthier, and his wife Angel; ten great-grandchildren, Devan, Emma, Austin, Karissa and Candice, Jake, Korey, Troy, Sean, and Kaylin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her twin brother, Henriot Rainville, who died as an infant.
Her Funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM.
