Norma (Barriteau) Stowell, 83, of Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William E.A. Stowell; they had been married for 45 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Zepherin J. and Adelaide (Tucker) Barriteau, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Stowell was formerly employed as a teacher's aide at Normandin Junior High School until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include three children, William Stowell, Jr. and his wife Victoria of New Bedford, Steven Stowell and his wife Yvonne Dodge, and Beth Rocha and her husband Dr. Edward Klein, all of Dartmouth; three grandsons, William Stowell III, Jacob Rocha, and Benjamin Rocha; three step-granddaughters, Sarah Rocha, Julia Klein, and Lindsey Klein; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Patrick R. Stowell.
