Junius Belvin Mills Jr., was born July 6, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Junius B. Mills Sr. and the late Alberta Berger. He was the older brother of the late George Mills and the husband of the late Anita L. Mills.
Junius graduated from McDonogh 35 high school in New Orleans. He enlisted in the United States Navy and became a WWII veteran serving in the Asian - Pacific.
Junius was married to the late Anita Lindsey Mills. This union was blessed with five children, Cheryl Mills Robertson of Massachusetts; Junius B. Mills III (Patricia) of Powell,
Ohio, Renee Sellam (Devick) of Manhattan, New York, Pamela Mills of Massachusetts, and Lynne Mills of Massachusetts. He was blessed with six grandchildren; Rachel Mills
Robertson, Allison T. Mills, Lindsey Mills Darmozadeh, Derrick Robertson , Melissa
Sellam , Sacha Sellam and cousin Henry Brown . Junius also had four great grandchildren, also leaves his sisters-in-law Marian Teague, Estelle Greene and the late Pauline Gentry.
Junius was a retired postal worker in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a dedicated member of the VFW Post 697 in Whitman, Massachusetts and held various leadership positions, including Post Commander 1992-1993.
Junius leaves to cherish his loving memories his five children, one daughter-in-law,
one son-in-law, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
His funeral services wil. Be on Friday June 24th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.(Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 2:15PM. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 23rd from 5:00-8:00PM
