Obituary

Lilla Harper Fuller Boykin, 97, of Ocilla, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Ocilla Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Couey and the Rev. Allen Arowood officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the sanctuary.

Mrs. Boykin was born September 15, 1918 in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Nat & Elizabeth Richardson Harper. She lived most of her life in Coffee and Irwin Counties with the exception of 20 years in Sylvester. She was a cashier at Turk’s Pharmacy and Dill’s Hardware. Mrs. Boykin was an avid reader and a member of the Ocilla Sewing Club. She was also a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Thelma Ruth Boykin of Ocilla; grandchildren: Kathy Boykin, Bob & Regina Boykin, and Dana Willis, all of Ocilla; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Glynn Ray Hutto and her husband Tony of the Holt community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest Fuller and William Ausbon Boykin; a son, Bobby Lee Boykin; five brothers; and three sisters.
