Obituary

CHICOPEE – Elaine F. (Tindell) Robidoux, 73, a longtime resident of the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on August 8, 1942, a beloved daughter of the late Sylvia N. (Lacroix) Tindell Morgan and the late Homer A. Tindell. Following the death of her father, her mother married her beloved step-father, the late Charles A. Morgan. She was raised in South Hadley, attended local schools and lived in South Hadley for many years. She later lived in Granby before moving to Chicopee in 1966. She was employed for many years in the food service industry and worked at Providence Hospital, the lunch counter at the former W. T. Grant’s in Holyoke, the former Bickford’s Pancake House in West Springfield and the lunch counter at K Mart in Holyoke. She was currently employed as a waitress at the Lucky Strike Restaurant on Grattan Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee. During her leisure time, Elaine enjoyed going to Foxwoods, meeting up with her many friends and going to many Bingo games in the area. She leaves her two devoted children, Steven A. Bennis of San Antonio, TX and Pamela D. Maiolo and her husband, James, of South Hadley; her loving sister, Marlene Rock of Belchertown; her many cherished nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces; and her numerous friends, co-workers and customers at the Lucky Strike Restaurant that were such a large part of her life. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, June 24, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, June 23, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
