Theodore T. Galuski, Sr., 93

Dateline: Taunton, MA

Theodore T. “Sharky” Galuski, Sr., age 93, of East Taunton, a lifelong city resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (Shealy) Galuski, to whom he was wed for the past 24 years.

Born in Taunton, MA on June 9, 1923, he was a loving son of the late Walter and Mary (Zieba) Galuski.

He grew up and was educated in Taunton. During the Korean War, Sharky proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from duty with the rank of private First Class on February 8, 1952.

As a youth, Sharky was a standout baseball player. He played semi-pro baseball for the City of Taunton and had also coached fast pitch baseball.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Galuski had worked in the maintenance and recycling departments at Hallsmith-Sysco in Norton for 16 years and was previously employed for many years at the Robertson Curtain Factory in Taunton.

Mr. Galuski was a life member of the Taunton Lodge of Elks #150 and a member of the Taunton American Legion Post #103. His hobbies included bowling, playing cribbage, and he treasured the times spent in the company of family and friends alike.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children Theodore
T. Galuski, Jr. and his wife Marjorie of Maine and Ann Marie Brodeur and her husband Jeffrey of Westport. He was the dear brother of Margaret Sherman of Virginia, Johanna Jardin of Mashpee, Henrietta Solinski of Ohio, Mary Ann Maxim and her husband Ronald of Florida, and the late Henry, Edward, Walter and William Galuski. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Vanessa McInnis, Meagan Rankin, Ivy Todd, Aislynn Galuski, Tedianne Galuski and Abbie Connolly, as well as 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend services with military honors on Monday, June 27th at 10:45 A.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, in Bourne.

There will be no procession from funeral home. Those attending are requested to proceed directly to the cemetery and please arrive by 10:30 A.M.

Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember him with a donation in his memory made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, MA 02140.
