TEWKSBURY: Marguerite E. (Langley) Quinlan, age 96, a former resident of Tewksbury, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Heritage Manor in Lowell.
She was the wife of John J. Quinlan who died December 11, 1996.
Born in Cambridge on March 27, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (Hayes) Langley.
Mrs. Quinlan was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge schools.
She lived most of her life in Cambridge and Arlington.
In recent years, she resided with her daughter in Tewksbury.
Mrs. Quinlan was a communicant of St. Williams Parish in Tewksbury and a former communicant of St. Agnes Church in Arlington.
Mrs. Quinlan dedicated most of her adult life to caring for her family. In earlier years, she was employed by the Harvard University Law School.
Mrs. Quinlan was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
She enjoyed many activities including arts, crafts, gardening, crotchet and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter; Marguerite M. Harrington and her husband Francis of Tewksbury; one son; John J. Quinlan and his wife Beatrice(Sullivan)of Bolton; nine grandchildren; Thomas K. Quinlan of Key West, FL, Pamela D. Quinlan of Lancaster, Jennifer S. Quinlan-Fujiwara and her husband Diego of Watertown, David F. Harrington of North Reading, Paul S. Harrington and his wife Mary (Berube) of Tewksbury, Robert M. Harrington of North Reading, Debra A. Gavin and her husband William of Tewksbury, J. Brian Harrington and his wife Cheryl (Kelly) of Groton and Kevin W. Harrington of North Andover; nineteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Quinlan was the mother of the late Eileen T. Quinlan and sister of the late Irene Buckley, Helen Sloat and Mary Fitzgerald.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 18th from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Tuesday, July 19th at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Oblate Novitiate, 486 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 are requested.
