Marie L. Maranville
Retired Tewksbury and Westford Music Teacher


TEWKSBURY: Marie L. (Dunlea)Maranville, age 68, a resident of Tewksbury for 38 years, formerly of Wakefield, passed away at home on Thursday, June 16, 2016.

She was the beloved wife of 31 years to Lloyd H. Maranville, Jr., who passed away on December 6, 2004.

Born in Boston on March 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William D. Dunlea and the late Rose Marie (Flaherty) Dunlea.
Marie was raised in Wakefield and attended St. Joseph Parochial Grammar School.

She graduated from Arlington Catholic High School in 1966 and continued her education at the former Lowell State Teachers College (U.Mass-Lowell), where she received her B.A. Degree in Music in 1970 and her Master’s Degree in Education in 1972.

Prior to her retirement in 2011, she was employed for 30 years as a music teacher by the Tewksbury Public School System, and previously for the Westford Public School System.
Marie was a communicant of St. William’s Parish in Tewksbury.

She enjoyed knitting, reading, music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marie is survived by three children, Jean Marie Gibson and her husband Gregory of Westborough, Rose M. Maranville and her fiancée Jason Moynihan of Dalton, and William L. Maranville and his wife Amy of Somerville; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Victoria, Haley, Jason, Brianna, McKenzie, Reagan, and James; one sister, Jean F. Dunlea of Wakefield. Marie also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Calling hours are Tuesday, June 21, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 22, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
