Obituary

Lincoln B. Robinson, 94, of Whitman, passed away on June 17th in the Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Winnifred (Higgins) Robinson.

He was born in Brockton, son of the late Ralph and Helen (Batchelder) Robinson.

Lincoln has been a Whitman resident for 85 years, a graduate of Whitman High, class of 1940, Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, class of 1942 and Williams College School of Banking, class of 1961.

He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII from 1942-1946, as Petty Officer First Class.

Lincoln was employed by the Plymouth Home National Bank for 25 years, then the Brockton Brotherhood Credit Union, retiring in 1991. He worked part time for the credit union until 1995. He was also the Treasurer of many organizations in his younger years.

He was a member of the Bridgewater Kiwanis Club, Puritan Lodge, also the First Congregational Church of Whitman, for 75 years, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and serving on the committees of church. He also served as Deputy Tax Collector for the Town of Whitman for 26 years.

Lincoln and his wife enjoyed bowling in their younger years, on the Ball and Chain league, also music, theater, dancing and working around his home in Whitman and his Cape Cod Home in West Dennis.

In addition to his wife Winnifred, he is survived by his daughter Wendy J. Wrin of Whitman, many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Andrew Robinson.

His funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 22nd at 3:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-3:00PM, Donations may be made in his name to the Whitman Fire Dept Gift Fund, P.O.
