Rose M. (Petti) Andrews age 95 formerly of Brockton, died Wednesday June 15, 2016 at the Nemasket Health Center in Middleboro. She was the loving wife for 54 years of the late Robert J. Andrews, Sr. Rose was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Celestino and Santina (Ferrara) Petti and lived in Brockton for most of her life. She had resided in East Bridgewater for 35 years before returning to Brockton.
A 1938 graduate of Brockton High School, Rose also attended Williams Business School. Rose’s career was spent as a bookkeeper and she started out in the family business C. M. Petti Market. She also worked with her husband at Ralsco Kitchens and retired from Brockton Beef.
Rose was a member of the Brockton Council on Aging where she enjoyed playing mahjong with her friends. She also enjoyed traveling and dining out.
Rose will be remembered as a loving and forgiving lady with a positive attitude; she saw everything through rose colored glasses. Rose loved to entertain family and friends. Most importantly, she was proud to be the matriarch of five generations and treasured time spent with her family.
Rose is survived by two sons Robert J. Andrews, Jr. and his wife JoAnne of Middleboro and Charles M. Andrews and his wife Judith of Buzzards Bay. She leaves two grandchildren Christine Falk and her husband Morgan and Michael Andrews, four great grandchildren C. Mark Lewis, Erin Lewis, Jackson Falk and Andrew Falk and a great great granddaughter Ava Rose. Rose was the sister of Geneva Smith of Brockton and the late Michael, James and Celestino Petti, Jr. and Amelia Moran Hustler. She was also the companion of the late Pal Astore.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday 4-7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne on Wednesday at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations in Rose’s name may be made to the charity of your choice or to Fidelis Hospice 25 Railroad Sq. Ste. 501, Haverhill, MA 01832.
