Richard David Jordan of Briarcliff Manor, died June 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jordan was born August 7, 1932, in Portchester, NY to James and Dorothy (Morgan) Jordan. He attended White Plains schools, and in 1954, he graduated with honors from Amherst College.
He served two years in the Army from 1955 to 1957, and was stationed in Alaska while it was still a territory.
He had a long career in advertising, writing direct mail. In 1978, he formed his own company, Jordan Creative Services. He retired in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary (Crane), his six children, Lynn McCook, Richard Jr.,
Kathleen Jordan, Karen McCoy (Oliver), Daniel (Amy Drago), Mary Eileen Oakes, 17 grandchildren,
one (and soon to be two) great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a sister, Judith Hall, (Howard), and sister-in-law, Mary Helen (Cronin) Jordan. His brother, James Jordan, Jr. predeceased
him in 2004.
The wake will be Monday, June 20, at The Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, from 5 to 9pm. The Mass will be at Saint Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor, Tuesday 10:30am. John G. Crawford Funeral Director.
