Thelma Louise Gibbs, 71, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia, in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Friday, June 17, 2016, at Holt Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia.
Ms. Gibbs was born September 4, 1944, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Ronald Thomas Gibbs and Geneva Gray Gibbs Logerman. She was raised by Willie & Annie Gray. She lived in Ocilla most of her life. Ms. Gibbs attended Coosa Valley Tech in Rome and worked at Floyd County Hospital. She received her LPN certificate from Ben Hill Irwin Tech in 1985 and worked for Fitzgerald Nursing Home, Osceola Nursing Home, Dorminy Medical Center, Irwin County Hospital and Tift General Hospital. Ms. Gibbs was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her children: Jeff & Lori Sanders of Rome, Tammy & James Lamb of McDonough, and Amanda Veal of Tifton; grandchildren: Eric Holcomb, Tara Holcomb, Dillon Lamb, Autumn Veal and Kylie Sanders; two great-grandchildren: Aaden Holcomb and Adler Holcomb; two sisters: Brenda Bothell of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Penny Gibbs of Dahlonega and five brothers: Jackie Gibbs, Steve Gibbs, Danny Gibbs, Bobby Gibbs and Timmy Gibbs, all of Aragon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Charlie Gibbs.
