William Aloysius Lyons, Jr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in Tarpon Springs, FL., Mr. William Aloysius Lyons, Jr., age 88.
Mr. Lyons was a native of Augusta, GA. He was a graduate of Boy’s Catholic High School. Mr. Lyons served in the United States Navy and was retired from the United States Airforce where he served as a Chaplain’s Assistant. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Tarpon Springs.
Family members include his children: William A. Lyons, III, Peter J. Lyons and wife Suzanne, Thomas A. Lyons and wife Keren and Mary L. Moss; siblings: Helen L. Laird of Savannah, GA, Marguerite L. Welch of Augusta, Holy Cross Brother Matthew A. Lyons C.S.C. Santiago, Chile, Angela L. Jardina and husband Philip of Atlanta, GA and Bernard P. Lyons of Gainesville, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: William A. Lyons, Sr. and Margaret M. Lyons and brother: Alfred J. Lyons.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
