Richard, 91, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2016 in Oxnard, California.
Richard was born in Bakersfield on October 17, 1924 to Fred and Mary Nass. He was a long time resident of Ventura County.
Richard was an electrician by trade and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 952. He served in the United States Naval Construction Forces, the Seabees, from 1942 to 1945 during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. After his service, he met Lois Bandy and they were married on April 24, 1948. Richard and Lois settled in Ventura where they raised two daughters. They were married for 58 years when Lois passed away in 2006.
Richard was an active member of the Ventura Elks Lodge #1430, Camarillo Moose Lodge #2047, American Legion Post #741 and was a charter member of the Ventura Unit of the United States Power Squadron.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nass and all of his siblings: Betty Neal, Naomi McElinthey, Henry Nass, Katie Modlin, Francis Berd, Fred Nass, Pearl Konkel, Robert Nass, and June Morrison.
Richard is survived by his daughters: Beverly Ackart and her husband Archie, and Shirley Clobes; his three grandsons: Don Clobes Jr. and his wife Tammy, Greg Clobes and his wife Stephanie, Tom Clobes and his wife Mera; and seven great-grandchildren: Cody, Jesse, Kendall, Maddison, Owen, Abbey, and Ethan.
