Robert H. Surabian of Winchester died on Monday, June 13, at the Life Care Center of Stoneham. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late George Ara and Constance (Vardaro) Surabian. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was the beloved husband of Joan (Bacos) Surabian, and the devoted father of Donna Richmond, George A. Surabian and his wife Lisa, Robert Surabian Jr. and his wife Justine, Michael Surabian and his wife Karen, and John Surabian. Robert was the loving grandfather of Michael, Andrea and Gregory Richmond, Emily, Mary, Michael, Nicole, Samantha, Zachary, Nina, Erica, and Courtney Surabian, and the cherished brother of Ronald Surabian and his wife Freya, and the late George Surabian and his late wife Tina. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert was captain of the Medford High School Varsity Hockey Team and President of the graduating class at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He was the owner and pharmacist of Cradock Apothecary of Medford and Winchester, a Medford Rotary Club member, and winner of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award and the Man of the Year Award. Robert was President and CEO of Medford Cooperative Bank, President of the Medford Visiting Nurses Association, a member of the Over the Hill Motorcycle Club, as well as a real estate agent in Massachusetts and New Hampshire,
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, June 21 at 10 AM followed by a funeral service conducted in Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday, June 20, from 3 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
