RUSSELL - Shawn "Wesley" Russell, 23, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016.
He was born December 2, 1992 in Fernandina Beach and attended Fernandina Beach High School before moving to Jacksonville and graduating from Sandalwood High School in 2011.
"Wesley," as he was known to his family and Shawn to some of his friends, enjoyed the sun and the beach, listening to music and spending time with his sister and his friends. He had a passion for cooking for others.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Thomas Earl Russell and an aunt, Cheryl Lynn Russell.
Survivors include his parents, Christina Russell, Shawn Russell and Tonya Russell; his sister, Angelina Russell; brother Kaiden DeGross; grandparents Barry & Linda Worthington, Hazel Harpe, Dale & Kenny King and Carol & Ralph Bunk; great grandmothers Lorraine Bunk and Dorothy Schwager. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Gunner, Payton, Jayda and Jemma; several aunt & uncles and many cousins; his best friend, Chrstina Perez and his room mate Todd Fletcher.
There will be a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Hall officiating. the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
