Obituary

Russell C. Leary, age 68 of Nashua NH, died following a sudden illness on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at a Reno NV hospital with his loving wife, Pearl (Laferriere) Leary, and son by his side.
Born and raised in Natick, Russ was predeceased by his parents Arthur C. Leary and Muriel A. (Wallace) Leary. He attended Natick Public Schools and graduated with honors from Newton Technical Trade School in 1966 with a diploma in printing. He was awarded a full college scholarship but instead chose to join the workforce. Russ was employed by Nimrod Press in Boston until 1985 when he achieved his goal of opening his own printing company, which he named Leary Typographics, Inc.
Russ was an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed traveling to various venues to see a race. He always looked forward to “Boy’s Weekend” at the NH track twice a year. The most fun he ever had though was with his son at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Race in 2003 because they toured all the drivers’ garages. Russ’s favorite driver was Kevin Harvick and he loved to tease his wife for rooting for “Jeffie.”
He also enjoyed camping and traveling. In 2013, he fulfilled another dream when he and his wife packed up and began traveling the country in an RV. They visited many states and made lots of great friends along the way. He enjoyed exploring new areas and seeing the sights but he especially enjoyed being on an adventure with his wife.
Russ was a proud and dedicated Member of the Natick Elks for over 40 years twice serving as Exalted Ruler.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by one son, Scott Leary and his wife Lois of New Ipswich, NH; and two daughters, Pam Munroe and her husband Tom of Merrimack, NH; and Carolyn Leary and Rob McGovern of Millbury, MA. He loved being “Grampy” to his grandchildren Christopher and Alyssa Leary; Victoria, Brandon, and Jason McGovern; and Seth Courchene.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Saturday June 18 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street at Natick Common.Visiting hours are Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
