Irene M. (Galluccio) Stewart, 93, a resident of Lawrence, died on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born Erinna Maria Galluccio having later Americanized her name to Irene. She was born on October 25, 1922 to Giacomo and Angelina in Lachine, Canada. A graduate of Lawrence High School. She worked for 30 years for Western Electric. Her and her sister worked for Lockheed in California for the war effort during World War II. She was a member of St. Rita's Sodality, and also a volunteer at the Lawrence Senior Citizens Center.
She is the wife of the late James F. Stewart, she leaves one son: Neil A. Stewart of Lawrence, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Annie, Rita, Leonilda, Anthony, Fernando.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 10:00AM in Corpus Christi Church in Lawrence. A burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
