Obituary

Mrs. Nancy L. (Torres) Joubert, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 12 at Morton Hospital. She was the former wife of Arthur R. Joubert, Jr. of Lake City, Fla. She was born 82 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Philbert and Mary (Castro) Torres. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Nancy had been employed as a sacristan at St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton, and was previously employed at the former Immaculate Conception Parish. She was formerly employed at the Rennie Curtain Factory in Taunton for many years. Nancy was an avid New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and was a ticket seller for parish dinners. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish.
She leaves: 3 daughters: Joan Wilson of Raynham, Debra Swale of Taunton, and Sharon Joubert and her companion, David McGrath of Brockton; 2 sisters: Dolores Fernandes of E. Taunton, and Natalie Gouveia of Taunton; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was also the mother of the late Arthur R. “Butchie” Joubert, III, and the sister of the late Philbert, Charles, Manuel, Joseph and Anthony Torres, Mary Raposa, and Evelyn Cole.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, June 18 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
