Loren Francis Alexander died at the age of 76 in Ventura, California, on June 9, 2016. Loren was born on April 13, 1940, in Portland, Oregon, to Frank Alexander and Violet (Susbauer) Alexander. Loren earned a bachelor’s degree (1962) and a J.D. (1965) from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. He married Kathleen Verjinski in 1962, and they had four daughters. After law school, Loren was a successful entrepreneur in Oregon and later in Texas, where he was owner/CEO of a software company for many years until his retirement.
In 1982 he married Marilyn (Jasick) Rotzoll, and they enjoyed living on Lake Lewisville, Texas, traveling the world, and spending time with their children and grandchildren until her death in 2007. Loren continued to work as a business consultant after his retirement. He moved to Ventura, California, in 2010 to enjoy the beach life and spend time with family and friends. In Ventura he met his partner Carol Atkins, and they spent many happy days by the ocean with each other. Loren was an avid reader, a lover of travel, and a single malt scotch enthusiast, who always had a “plan B.” He loved to laugh and always had a joke to tell. He was a generous and fond father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Loren is survived by his children, Kellee (John) Beaudry, Christine Alexander (Ken Hajic), Michelle (David) Velarde, and Sarah Alexander; his stepchildren, Jennifer (Gregory) Greener and Jeffrey (Judy) Rotzoll; his grandchildren, Jeremy Alexander, Dylan and Lillian Greener, Megan Pitts, and Madison and Andrew Rotzoll; his granddaughter in-law, Suki Garcia; his great-grandchild, Sofia Alexander; his sister, Marilee Basaraba; and his partner, Carol Atkins.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Fr. Albert Van der Word Friday July 15, 2016 at 12 Noon in the San Buenaventura Roman Catholic Mission, Main Street Ventura. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home at 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, California 93001 (805-643-8623), on July 16, 2016, at 1 p.m. Friends and family are invited to share their memories at the service in celebration of Loren’s life.
