Yvette M (Latraverse) Giarrusso, 92, of Norwood, died June 11 in the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was the wife of the late John G. Giarrusso who died in 2013.
Born in Fall River, January 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Euclide and Beatrice (Lepage) Latraverse, Yvette was raised in Dorchester and had lived in Norwood for over 20 years.
A homemaker, most of her life, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, being part of the Norwood Senior Citizens Club and helping out with activities with the Wellesley Rotary Club with her late husband.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory Giarrusso and his wife Renee of Lincoln, Rhode Island and Jeffrey Giarrusso of South Walpole.
She was the sister of the late Oscar Latraverse, Loretta Bateman and Bertha Kelly.
Yvette is also survived by her five grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
A private funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Timothy’s Church with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
