Gerard A. Cappello passed away peacefully at the Winchester Nursing Center. He was 79. Raised in Medford, he was the son of the late William and Hellen (Bondanza) Cappello.
Cappy operated local convenience and sub shops in Medford and Winchester.
The beloved husband of Virginia “Ginger” (DiNino) Cappello, he was the brother of the late Gaspar Cappello. He was a devoted brother-in-law of Phyllis Lyons and her husband Paul, Marie Banks and her husband Ed, Alexander DiNino, and his wife Charlene and the late Lillian Cuggino and her late husband Guy. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Tuesday June 14th at 11:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington Street, Winchester, at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
