Obituary

Bernice A. ‘Bunny’ Howe, 80, of Provincetown died Saturday, June 11th at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was the beloved wife of the Reverend Cannon Gregory Howe.

Born and educated in Belmont, she was the daughter of Dennis and Ethel [Milne] McNulty. A graduate of McLean Hospital School of Nursing, she received her B.S. from Columbia University’s Teachers College, and did additional graduate work at the University of Delaware.

Mrs. Howe was a psychiatric nurse and served as an instructor at McLean Hospital in Belmont, worked at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and the New York Psychiatric Institute of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.

In 1965, she married her husband Greg in New York City, and relocated with him to Delaware. In Delaware, she worked in Public Health Nursing and was Supervisor for Public Health Nursing in Kent County. Retiring in 1995, she moved to their long-time house in Provincetown.

In Provincetown, she volunteered with the Council on Aging and Helping Our Women.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she leaves many cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Eucharist Service, Tuesday, June 21st at 11:30 am, at St. Mary of the Harbor Episcopal Church, 517 Commercial St, Provincetown. Burial will follow in Provincetown Cemetery.
