Antonio M. “Tony” Branco, age 50, passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 11, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores, but immigrated as a young child, he was the son of the late Antonio S. and Julieta (Travassos) Branco. Tony held an Associate’s degree from BCC and worked many years as a Youth Program Coordinator for P.A.A.C.A. He adored the kids he mentored and they also loved him. Tony was an amazing, giving person with the biggest heart and sense of humor, who brought a smile to everyone he knew.
Tony leaves behind his sisters, Candida Couto (husband Carl) of Fall River and Nazaria Brouillard (husband Paul) of Somerset; his loving nephew and niece Benjamin and Ashley Brouillard; dedicated friend and caregiver Donna Tobin and her son Matthew Tobin Belanger, who was like a son to Tony; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Betsy Rosen and Mary Dana of Steward Home Care & Hospice for all their care and compassion.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Espirito Santo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
