Mary A. (McLaughlin) Heffernan, an 18 year resident of Revere and formerly of Burlington and Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home in Revere following an extended illness. She was 81 years old.
Mary was born in Boston on August 26, 1934, a daughter of the late John McLaughlin and Annie (Lafferty) McLaughlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School. Mary was a homemaker for most of her life, caring for her beloved family. Mary cherished her grandchildren above all else.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Heffernan Jr. She is the devoted mother of Walter A. Heffernan III and his wife Sarah, Kathy Heffernan, and the late Mary Heffernan. She is the loving Nana to Kirby Heffernan, Henry Heffernan, and Lucy Heffernan. She is the beloved sister of Rose Bartolo, and the late Anna Myles, John McLaughlin, and Hugh McLaughlin. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Pine Haven Cemetery in Burlington. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
